Eritrea today, Zim, Cuba and Venezuela tomorrow Col Gaddafi

It seems like yesterday when our Eritrean comrades were driving in a motorcade, around Malcolm X Park honking their car horns and literally screaming at the top of their lungs: “We did it, nobody thought we could! We are finally independent!”

Many of them were unable to hold back their tears of joy, the fact that this occurred on African Liberation Day in 1991, gave all daughters and sons of Africa in pursuit of total liberation and human dignity uncontrollable goosebumps.

Here we are 27 years removed from that momentous occasion, blessed with the privilege of witnessing the mighty people of Eritrea score their most significant political victory, since attaining their initial independence.

Every Eritrean that believes in their government and the ruling party.

People are in the midst of celebrating the lifting of the UN Security Council voting unanimously to lift UN sanctions on Eritrea that not only reeked of vitriol and racism, but were initiated by the UK and their bloodthirsty allies.

The justification for this unjust and diplomatic terrorist measure was the bogus and substantiated claims that Eritrea had ties to Al-Shabaab militants in Somalia and a refusal to withdraw from border disputes with Djibouti.

The mere fact that Eritrea not only denied they had ties to Al Shabaab, but dared UK-EU imperialism to provide any meaningful evidence at their disposal, certainly validates the assertion stated by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah concerning the role of the UN in the assassination of Patrice Lumumba.

Nkrumah boldly stated: “History records many occasions when rulers of states have been assassinated. The murder of Patrice Lumumba and two of his colleagues, however, is unique in that it is the first time in history that the ruler of a country has been done to death with the open connivance of a world organisation (The United Nations) whom the ruler put his trust in.”

Surprisingly there are some gutless opportunists in our space, who blame the Osagyefo for Lumumba’s loss, which is equivalent to blaming the Nation of Islam for the assassination of Brother Malcolm instead of calling the FBI-CIA and NYPD to the carpet.

The knee jerk reaction of UK-EU imperialism concerning Eritrea and Djibouti, has nothing to do with a border dispute, but everything to do with their interests concerning a nation that made arguably the most neo-colonialist and reactionary overture of the 21st century, when they decided to be the hub for the US Africa military command better known as AFRICOM.

It can be argued that the attempt on the life of the current Ethiopian Prime Minister was a dress rehearsal for a UK-EU invasion of Eritrea.

As far as the UN goes, whether we reflect back to the 1940s when Dr WEB DuBois clashed with former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, who vehemently opposed the petition he presented to the United Nations entitled; “An Appeal To The World: A statement of denial of human rights to minorities in the case of citizens to the United Nations for redress”.

That lesson showed us that if one of the most decorated white liberals in modern history could be so cold, vicious and calculating we are truly on our own. The fact Mrs Roosevelt attempted to sabotage the petition when she was on the NAACP’s board of directors tells us everything we need to know about her character.

We remember the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in his only visit to the UN, taking nearly three hours to discuss political assassinations in the 21st century by imperialist forces, little did we know he was speaking in code to his African sisters and brothers, that he had reason to believe he was next on the list.

Another extremely crucial point is Eritrea pulled off this victory without the outpouring of social democrats and pseudo revolutionaries, who in a real battle for sovereignty are at best fair weather friends, who at a moment’s notice, can become your worst enemy.

Many of them who did little or nothing at all, are already searching for the cheapest flights to Asmara ready to talk about invest schemes, with the demeanour of used car salesmen.

Let us salute Eritrea for instilling self determination in their children, their constituents in the Diaspora from Tiffany Haddish to Nipsey Hussle all fall in line.

Today we join Eritrea in victory while fighting for Zimbabwe, Cuba and Venezuela to break these shackles from imperialist sanctions and blockades.
