FRESH from dropping his eighth studio album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”, Showtime Management has announced that US rapper Marshall Mathers aka Eminem (pictured right) will be heading to SA shores next year. The rapper will tour Australia and New Zealand with his Rapture 2014 tour and now two SA dates have been added to it.

The secured dates for South Africa are Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday February 26 2014 and Johannesburg’s legendary Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday March 1 2014.

This is Eminem’s first visit to South Africa and the African continent. “We are proud to announce the Eminem Rapture Tour, brought to you by Primedia in association with Dainty group and Showtime Management. South Africa, get ready to loose yourself! Tickets go on sale this Thursday, November 21 at 9am,” Showtime Management wrote on their Facebook page.

A 13-time Grammy and Oscar winner, Eminem has sold 80 million albums, scanned 120 million singles and had 2,5 billion views online.
In South Africa, Eminem remains one of the most successful chart acts of all time. Of his eight albums released here, seven of them went to number1.

The supporting acts for the SA concerts are yet to be announced but his Australia and New Zealand shows feature Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.

Tickets will be available from Computicket tomorrow at 9am. — Sowetan.
