Zimbabwe will go for elections on August 23, President Mnangagwa announced in a gazette.

In the Proclamation, President Mnangagwa has also set the October 2 as the date for a run–off for the election of the office of the President in the event such an election becomes necessary.

This is in terms of Section 38(1)(a)(iii) of the Electoral Act.
