#EDhasMyVote campaign launch set for Saturday

Midlands Bureau Chief
Zanu-PF Midlands Province will on Saturday launch the #EDhasMyVote campaign to drum up support for President Mnangagwa and the ruling party ahead of July harmonised elections. #EDhasMyVote, which mainly focuses on mobilising youths ahead of the forthcoming elections, has already been launched in Harare, Bulawayo, Mashonaland West and Victoria Falls among other areas.

President Mnangagwa has said the harmonised elections would be held before the end of July.
Midlands Provincial Youth League chairperson Cde Edmore Samambwa confirmed in an interview yesterday that the launch of the campaign, which had been postponed twice, was finally going to take place on Saturday.

“Finally, we are going to launch the #EDhasMyVote campaign in Gweru over the weekend at the Zanu-pf Winery Conference Centre along Mvuma Road.

“The event had been postponed twice because of other important activities within the party and we have been given the green light to launch it on Saturday,” he said.

Cde Samambwa said the province has joined other provinces in mobilising youths’ support for President Mnangagwa ahead of the elections, adding that the campaign was also aimed at encouraging youths to register to vote for the ruling party.
He said they were expecting hundreds of youths from the eight administrative districts making up Midlands Province.

“All logistics have been done from transport to food, we are ready to go. Some provinces have already launched the campaign and it’s our time now. Our aim is to encourage youths within our province to be part and parcel of the registration so that they vote,” said Cde Samambwa.

“I urge all youths to come in numbers for the launch of the #EDhasMyVote campaign. Let’s rally behind our President and ensure that he wins resoundingly.”

Cde Samambwa said the launch was coming when the Zanu-PF Midlands Province is optimistic of mobilising 800 000 registered voters by the time the country goes for elections.
