Dynamos address player bonuses DeMbare

CASTLE Lager Premiership football giants Dynamos are working on reverting to their match-winning bonuses payment culture after players raised concerns over the new measures the team had put into place.

Winning bonuses are traditionally paid after matches or within the same week of posting victory.

But, rather bizarrely, the Glamour Boys had undertaken to pay those allowances at the end of the current season to which the players objected.

The issue had become a hot potato with club chiefs and players at loggerheads.

However, the club executive has agreed to return to the traditional way.

Dynamos executive chairman, Isaiah Mupfurutsa, told reporters yesterday his team will now be paying winning bonuses after matches.

“We had an arrangement at the start of the season to pay winning bonuses at the end of the season. But, we have since agreed as a team that we revert to the culture of paying after the victories,” said Mupfurutsa.

“We will be doing that and we have no problems doing that. We are happy the team is doing well and we still have a very good chance of winning the league title. So the players should get the motivation they need.”

The Glamour Boys head to one of the most difficult venues in the local Premiership – Vengere – for a date against Black Rhinos this Sunday.

With six points adrift of leaders FC Platinum, DeMbare know they don’t have any room to err with only eight games before the curtain comes down on the season.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya knows his charges will not only have Dynamos as their opponents but also a bumpy pitch to navigate for the full points on Sunday.

“The pitch needs a lot of aerial and physical strength and that is the message I have been telling my players throughout the week,” said Ndiraya.

“We have had some interesting battles against Black Rhinos over the years and if my memory serves me well, we have often come out on top.

“But, that is history now, we can’t dwell much into it. We will have to play our normal game, attack and get the points we need. We have gone for about seven matches without defeat and they (Rhinos) are coming from a defeat against Bulawayo Chiefs.

“We are trying to build on the momentum we have picked and try to push our charge for the title.”

Meanwhile, Mupfurutsa has dismissed the parallel structures being created by former Dynamos players who are in two factions, one with the likes of Stanley “Samora” Chirambadare while the other has the likes of Moses ‘’Bambo’’ Chunga, Sunday ‘’Mhofu’’ Chidzambwa and Eric Aisam.

This week, the Chirambadare faction announced that they had appointed an executive committee led by Leslie Gwindi.

And Mupfurutsa laughed off at the side-shows while clarifying the actual position on the ground.

“From what you have been seeing over the years, there is no other board that is running Dynamos other than the one led by Bernard Marriot-Lusengo.

“It is that board which appointed the executive which I chair, the executive which is involved in the day to day running of the club in consultation with other stakeholders.

“It is this executive that has been involved in all the negotiations and deals struck by Dynamos over the years. All the sponsors which have been involved with Dynamos have been brought by this executive. The RG Tobacco, Sakunda Holdings and HelloPaisa deals, among others, were negotiated by this executive,” said Mupfurutsa

“All the players that are working for Dynamos at the moment were brought in by this same executive.

“So what it means is that this executive is the one which is running the club. Wherever the team is involved whether it’s good deeds or bad deeds, it is this executive which is pointed at by the press because it is the one that is running Dynamos.

“So I don’t know if there is any other executive but what I can only say is that the current appointing authority has not yet given us any communication to say that we are no longer in charge. The appointing authority, which is chaired by Bernard Marriot-Lusengo, recognises this executive. If there is any other executive or people claiming to be the Dynamos executive, we don’t know the Dynamos they would be talking about because this Dynamos has only one executive appointed by the authority chaired by Marriot-Lusengo,” Mupfurutsa said.
