2016 is the year of a double portion and today I will take a little time to prepare you for what the Lord has in store for us! It is a good year; a year in which the Lord will double things in your life. Blessings, anointing, business and anything you can name will be doubled this year. O hallelujah!

The very things you missed, lacked and was denied in 2015, in this year of a double portion the Lord will multiply it and put it in your hands. But Bishop what about me I was chased from work last year and have nowhere to start taking care of my family? Delight in the Lord. Isaiah 61:7 says for your shame you shall receive double, everlasting joy shall be unto you! O glory, I like it, I like it!

Our key text for the double portion series shall be 2 Kings 2:9, which speaks of a man who against all odds, went for his double portion and got it! My prayer for you is that you get it this year, since it is possible to miss the double portion. “When they had crossed the Jordan River, Elijah invited Elisha, ‘Ask me what you want me to do for you before I’m taken away from you. So Elisha asked, ‘Please, may there be a double portion of your spirit upon me’!” 2 Kings 2:9 ISV.

This month of January many people are or have been praying for the year, which is a commendable thing. Prayer is helpful and critical in positioning you for the double portion. What does it mean to have a double portion? You see Elisha did not just get the double portion of anointing on Elijah, No! He got more than that.

Because when people hear of a double portion they just think on the anointing or spiritual side – it’s more than that this year! Elisha got destiny! What he got that day is what sustained him and became a door of all his life here on earth.

Friend this is a year to grab destiny! Nhonga chauchamhanya nacho gore rino kusvikira hupenyu hwapera. Yes, there will be double blessings, double anointing, double prosperity but there will be destiny. Some don’t know who they are or where they are going! This is the year!

What you were to do with $50 you will do it with 50c. The car you were to buy $10 000 you will buy it with $5 000. O glory. It’s for those who will walk by faith and not what the economy or industry dictates! Isaac sowed in drought time and reaped hundredfold.

However, you can’t have a double portion if you are holding someone or something in your heart. A double portion is for those that have forgiven all who wronged them and said goodbye to yesterday! We need to be able to release and let go of the past. You cannot go forward if you are tied to yesterday, Philippians 3:13.

This includes the good things we experienced in previous years. We are not living history we are history in the making. (Matakadyakare haanyaradzi mwana) “And Jesus said unto him, ‘No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God’.” (Luke 9:62).

And also bad, the hurts that we experienced, these are the things and people who were involved in the process of our hurt. Jesus told a parable of a man who had a big debt to his master but when forgiven he wanted to kill one who owed him peanuts (Matthew 18;23-25).

As this year begins I pray that all those that were bruised will be able to release them that bruised them. Forgive unconditionally, and the double portion will begin to work in your life.

Don’t tense reading this article because I mentioned the forgiveness point. You are a very important person to waste your destiny on someone else. Someone who eats sadza like you, aah, come on! This is a good year despite the many bitter things that happened last year.

Yet some are tied to the good things that happened. Let them go also, so that you create room for the double portion. Let go. Don’t be tied to yesterday. It’s now time to climb up higher and seek God more!

Do you know the bandaged people we see at hospital are few than the people bruised at heart that we don’t see yet they walk down the streets every day? 2016, every bruise must be healed. Open your heart and say “My God! At times we wait for the person who wronged us to come and say sorry.” What if they delay or never come? Allow the Holy Spirit to touch your heart and heal you.

What is the effect of a bruise? It’s that thing that when you sit down alone you say to yourself “Humm hazvina basa hazvo!” When you say hazvina basa hazvo it means zvine basa! (When you say it doesn’t matter, mostly it matters) Every bruise let it go!

It’s a good time to let go! You can’t die because someone spoke bad staff to you. You have a better destiny. If naturally people are put bandages and plasters we want God to put plasters and bandages on our hearts today. This is a good year, your double portion is awaiting! For with God all things are possible, Mark 10:27
