THE quartet of FC Platinum players that were recently promoted to the senior team are excited by the prospects of playing professional football with the Zimbabwean champions.

The platinum miners, who are currently preparing for the CAF Champions League eliminator against Angolan side Sagrada Esperanca, promoted Peace Chivhunduko, Oscar Bhebhe, Thubelihle Ngwenya and Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya from their Under-19 side. They also signed a young forward, Abubakar Temitope Onifade, from Nigeria.

“Chivhunduko is the youngest with great vision and aspirations to be a great player. Playing amongst some of the best footballers in the nation has made the determined Peace to dream big and to believe that nothing can stop him.

“He stated that joining the senior team is a dream come true. Peace looks upon (teammate) Rodwell Chinyengetere, as one of his role models in local football,” said the club in response to The Herald’s questions.

Bhebhe is a right-winger with great potential, full of energy and enthusiasm. He is feeling ecstatic about joining the senior team and is ready to do his best at the big stage.

“It is like a dream come true,” said Bhebhe.

Thubelihle Ngwenya is a defensive midfielder, “agile, young, and promising.” Thubelihle also feels excited about this new chapter ahead of him.

“As a junior, it is an honor and huge breakthrough. So it gives me power to work even harder so that I can go far,” he said.

Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is an 18-year-old rookie who has featured in the Chibuku Super Cup recently. His father was also a football player who used to play in Botswana. The striker is currently pursuing his studies at Zvishavane high school.

“Thando believes that giving it all and hard work pays off. Upon enlarging his sporting career, he dreams of going to England. He scored his first goal against Hwahwa in the Chibuku Super Cup for the senior team.”

Nigerian newboy, Onifade, is a product of Clique Sports Academy in Lagos and has played for Remo Stars back in his country. He also passed through FC Barcelona Academy Lagos.
