1415: He warns of white farmers who are still holding onto title deeds yet they were removed from the farms and that remains a risk as they can reverse the land reform.

1413: Cde Jabulani Sibanda on behave of the War Veterans is now addressing the gathering. He thanks President Mugabe for bravely leading the party as well as chiefs, pastors, war veterans and war collaborators. He said on Saturday the President gave a speech that touched him in which he spoke of the protection of family values.

1407: Solidarity messages are now being given and unlike previously they will be internal as Sister liberation parties will be invited next year.

1403: On behalf of the conference she expresses her gratitude for the President’s political shrewdness that ensured victory on July 31. She moved the motion for the taking note of the First Secretary’s keynote address. The motion was duly adopted.

1400: She promises the President that the party will deliver on his directive for delivery from Government. VP Mujuru challenges Team Zimbabwe in resource mobilisation for the funding of Zim Asset.

1358: She says the country should move from being nation of importers to a country of exporters now if not yesterday.

1357: She says for the first time in 33 years the country now has a home grown constitution and it gave impetus for holding the elections and as such the elections were successful held in a peaceful environment. She said the result were a shock to the country’s enemies and reminds the gathering that the regime agenda has not been dealt with completely but urged the people to be alert.

1352: VP Mujuru says this year’s conference is unique in that it comes when the party has come from a resounding victory in the July 31 elections.

1348: The national chairman, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo, is now addressing the crowd thanking the President for the speech. He now invites VP Mujuru to give her vote of thanks.

1347: He ends his speech by urging the party to remain united.

1345: President Mugabe says he has forgotten what people did to him in 2008 and thanks them for the high level of honour they got by winning the elections. He says the length and breath of Africa and the rest of the world are still wondering how Zanu-PF did it. He says during the GNU tenure he would meet every week with Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara and drink tea together but he was mindful that in five years time there would be elections and his party was hard at work so had to endure the five year humiliation of the GNU.

1338: President Mugabe also fired a broadside at armed robbers while also saying in a country with hunger such things are bound to happen.

1335: He says some are Zimbabwe’s own children who are educated and are not fools but something is wrong with their heads. He urges such people to respect people’s property.

1334: The extortionists system of the cotton contractors should be done away with.  The system should be cleaned off those people.

1327: President Mugabe says Zimbabwe cannot go it alone but will need friends. He admits that they cannot help for nothing but there have to be agreements made carefully.

1322: He says they will be looking at the possibility of rationalising the mining of diamonds. He says although there are six diamond miners only three are worth talking about.

1321: President Mugabe says diamond mining is to be centralised and it’s not a free for all in other countries like Botswana.

1319: He warns the platinum miners that unless there is a refinery within two years the mining activities will be stopped. The same applies to gold.

1316: Value Addition is the fourth one. President Mugabe says even the ancestors added value to ore in making hoes and spears. He says the country should not continue to send out minerals in their raw forms.

1314: The third is Infrastructure and other utilities meaning improvement of roads. Having more of the roads well done. He says the country needs more better roads as well as good communication.

1311: He said banks should be thankful to depositors and not the other way round.

1307: The second is Social Services and Poverty Eradication because when people are full usually people will have other needs. He explains this refers to areas to do with health, education and other services. He says the teachers, doctors, nurses and other workers in social services well and of course those in the civil service.

1303: The President is now detailing the Zim Asset document saying it is now with Government and it has been agreed that it should run until 2018. He says the document is in perfect harmony with the party’s election manifesto. Food and Security Nutrition is the first area as Cluster One. He says plenty food means people are well fed and if the food is plenty we shall sell the excess.

1301: He said the issue of school dropouts because there is no food should be sorted.

1300: He reminds the people leading the food distribution in drought stricken areas that their power comes from the people.

1258: President Mugabe says all provinces have spots were people did not harvest but some are worse than others.

1257: He says the party promised to empower people as well as honouring the right of indigenous ownership. All these aspects have been bundled into the Zim Asset document.

1255: He says Zimbabweans should form themselves into groups and operate businesses for Zimbabwe and for themselves as well as the future generations. He says Zimbabweans should depend on themselves and when the aspect of sovereignty is talked about it’s freedom and the right to determine their own destiny.

1250: He says if people don’t apply themselves faithfully they will not succeed.

1249: “The way is clear now, we’ve vindicated ourselves, we have shown the world we are a sovereign people, we don’t brook nonsense, no,” he says

1247: President Mugabe says the party, in four years time, shall be gunning for lost ground in Bulawayo. He urges the people to take the victory in their bosoms, hearts, bones and in their dreams that Zimbabwe has come back into their hands for them to direct things the way they wish they be directed.

1244: He says the July 31 elections was not a fluke and is no small matter given the formidable forces against the party. It was a triumph of the people’s will saying they shall show what they are, they shall unite in showing what they are.

1242: President Mugabe said he was in South Africa representing the people at the memorial for Nelson Mandela. The party has also lost 254 comrades as well this year. In recognition of this the conference is now observing a minute of silence.

1232; He says he will use the opportunity to describe Zim Asset and explain a little to the gathering what it means. As time unfolds they leadership will be explaining what the policy means in provinces. The fight against hunger and poverty are aspect carried in the policy.

1228: “We meet once a year to present a report of the activities of our party,” he said.

1227: President Mugabe now addressing the gathering saying they did not see the MDC formatio0ns as the enemy but the British. He said the people refused the machinations ensuring that Zimbabwe will never be a colony again

1222: Cde Khaya Moyo is now inviting President Mugabe to the podium.

1221: Cde Khaya Moyo says the conference’s theme ‘Zim Asset: Growing the economy for empowerment and employment’ is derived from the manifesto and empowerment  and employment are our focus. We can’t take the electorate for granted anymore, from the people we come and to the people we return. We cannot afford to betray them…all of us can make a difference.

1216: Zanu PF should not allow this disease called factionalism to breath a day longer.

1215: Cde Khaya Moyo:”Cde delegates, distinguished guests, at our 11th national people’s conference….the call of my addresses centred on the imposition of leaders…to a large extent the message has been heard.

1212: Zanu-PF national chairman, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo, is now addressing the conference. He says he wants to congratulate Mashonaland West for the venue adding that this particular conference was celebratory one as Zanu-PF won the harmonised elections.

1204: Secretary for Administration, Cde Didymus Mutasa, is now introducing the provinces.

1158: Cde Mliswa expresses gratitude to the people of Mashonaland West for voting him chairperson. He promised to work for unity of the party. He expressed disappointment with some foreign owned firms that were reluctant to accept the 51/49 percent ownership. He singled out Zimplats as one such firm.
