Crooger nominated for eight awards Crooger

Following the release of his 22-track album “Shumba Inoruma”, rising hip hop star Nyasha Gurure a.k.a Crooger has been nominated for eight awards.

The South Africa-based artiste has six nominations in the Chitungwiza, Music, Entertainment and Lifestyle Awards (CMELA) and two nominations in Gweru’s Glam Awards.

Crooger said he is honoured for the recognition he has been receiving for his music.

“It’s one thing to go into the studio and record, anyone with money can do that.

“Being a good musician is having people appreciate your music. This nomination it an endorsement that I am good, and it feels great,” he said.

“Shumba Inoruma” has been doing well on radio, receiving vast airplay and featuring in many chart shows.

The album was befittingly nominated for album of the year while one of the hits from the album “Muteuro” was nominated for song and video of the year at CMELA.

Also nominated for CMELA video of the year is his song “Boys Repaghetto” which featured Jnr Brown.

Crooger’s other CMELA nominations are for Best Male Artiste and Best Urban Act (all genres).

For Glam Awards, he was nominated for Best Upcoming Artiste and Best Album.

Crooger said he is confident of winning.“Though I view my nomination as a win, I am confident of getting the awards,” he said.

The awards’ ceremonies will be held next month at dates yet to be announced.
