Over 29 Palestinians were killed in intense airstrikes on Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, by Israeli forces early on Tuesday.

This marks the latest wave of casualties as the conflict continues, with the situation reaching critical levels as humanitarian supplies, including fuel, have been blocked from reaching hospitals in northern Gaza.

The siege has left thousands of injured civilians at risk, particularly vulnerable children, women and displaced families.

Ambassador of Palestine to Zimbabwe, Dr Tamer Almassri has made an urgent appeal to the international community and the United Nations to move beyond expressions of concern and to take immediate action to address what he described as Israel’s escalating “genocidal war crimes”.

“The Palestinian government is advocating for comprehensive sanctions aimed at dismantling the structures supporting settler expansion and systemic annexation,” he said.

“They seek accountability for those they allege are responsible for inciting violence and committing war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank.”

Ambassador Almassri has also called for the enforcement of the UN General Assembly resolution endorsing the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, which demands an end to the occupation within 12 months.
