Covid-19 vaccine: Where to get your jab More than 80 percent of Zimbabweans identify as Christian, according to the national statistics agency, but there's no one-size-fits-all solution to convincing hesitant religious citizens to get vaccinated.

Following the increased supply of Covid-19 vaccine doses to all vaccination centres across Harare, Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals has stopped the covid-19 vaccination booking system, which had been devised to manage the huge numbers of people queuing for the jab.

The system was introduced two weeks ago to allow people who would not have received the vaccine on a particular day to book for another day, hence reducing the queues. The hospital was one of two centres offering the vaccine dose.

Parirenyatwa spokesperson Mr Linos Dhire said since more centres now had the vaccine, the booking system would no longer be used.

“Following the decentralisation of the vaccination programme to local clinics under the City of Harare, we are now administering the jabs on a first com e first serve basis. We now expect reasonable numbers of people to come to our hospital and encourage the public to get vaccinated at their local clinics,” he said.

He said the Hospital was concerned by media reports claiming that some of its security personnel were taking bribes from the public to jump the long queues.

He urged members of the public to report such incidents to the hospital or the police
