The trial of two MDC-T officials in Chitungwiza who allegedly systematically destroyed Zanu-PF campaign posters before the July general election was on Thursday deferred to November 15. The prosecutor Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa requested for the postponement of the matter following the absence of the State witnesses. Trymore Mhosva (28), the deputy organising secretary for Ward 21, and Wilson Benhura (47), Chitungwiza North organising secretary, appeared before magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini.

The two denied destruction of political posters under Section 152 of the Electoral Act.

Allegations against the two arose on July 19 and at around 2pm, when they were in company of three other accomplices identified as Ticha, Norman and Shame, who are still at large. They allegedly teamed up and moved around in Unit A removing, destroying and defacing posters.

These posters belonged to President Mugabe, aspiring Member of Parliament for Chitungwiza North Robson Mhandu and aspiring Ward 21 councillor Maxwell Dube.
