The Concord Young Women in Business Global ICT organisation is hosting visiting Zambian female media personality Mutale Mwanza, with a view to collaborating on various projects to empower women in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Mwanza who is popularly known as the ‘Queen of Media’ is a Zambian-born podcast host, entrepreneur, and social media personality. She is best known for her podcast, The L Word, which she started in 2016.

Speaking during a welcome dinner, Concord YWIB president Ms Apphia Nyasha Musavengana said that Mwanza’s visit means a lot to Zimbabwean women as her knowledge in media and communications will go a long way in empowering young women in business on how to utilise media in their businesses.

“This means a lot for the young women of Zimbabwe in terms of their communication, learning, gathering knowledge and being educated on using the media as a tool for their businesses, organisations and their livelihoods.

“And also, to understand how cyber-bullying affects them as young women and how it can be of benefit to their business,” she said.

Mwanza said that she was delighted to be working with the Concord YWIB which she said is doing a tremendous job in empowering women in Zimbabwe and across Africa.

“I have a very big voice back home in my country as I am the most followed female celebrity and I do not take the position for granted.

“So using my voice, it is my hope and my prayer that I can collaborate with the Concord YWIB to see how best we can disseminate the information out there, first of all on what she is doing and then collaborate and see what I can input as a media personality,” said Mwanza.
