CHIVI South’s Zanu-PF National Assembly candidate Cde Killer Zivhu is targeting over 20 000 votes for the party and President Mnangagwa in the harmonised elections slated for July 30. He said the party was poised for a resounding victory, as the electorate had benefited from a number of developmental projects under the new dispensation.

Cde Zivhu said he was going to hold a solidarity rally at Ngundu Growth Point on Saturday, meant to denounce the bombing incident which occurred at White City Stadium in Bulawayo during a well attended Zanu-PF rally addressed by President Mnangagwa last month.

Two security officers were killed whilst 49 people, including Zanu-PF chairman Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and Vice President Kembo Mohadi were injured in the bomb blast.

“We are targeting 23 000 votes for Zanu-PF and President Mnangagwa in the forthcoming harmonised elections in this constituency,” said Cde Zivhu.

He denounced the bombing incident which occurred at White City Stadium, saying the party membership in his constituency was against violence.

“Zanu-PF is invincible in Chivi South, so we are going to triumph convincingly in the forthcoming harmonised elections,” said Cde Zivhu.

“We will hold a star rally at Ngundu Growth Point on Saturday aimed at denouncing the barbaric attack at White City Stadium in Bulawayo, which we believe was targeted at our icon, President Mnangagwa.

“We will have musical groups from Harare and those hailing from Chivi to provide entertainment to our members as we seek to send a message to our detractors who want to cause disharmony in the country.”

Cde Zivhu said the rally, which is expected to be graced by the provincial leadership, would be the biggest in the constituency before the harmonised elections.

The outgoing Chivi Rural District Council chairman, who is also a philanthropist, said nothing could stop Zanu-PF from retaining the Chivi South seat, as contesting opposition parties had nothing to offer in terms of developmental projects.
