The ongoing Chitungwiza Trade Fair, which was organised by Chitungwiza Publicity Association (CPA), has returned on a high note, with more than 25 companies exhibiting at the event that is being held in Zengeza 4. The annual trade fair, which promotes Chitungwiza-based firms, bounced back after a two-year hiatus.

It is running under the theme “The Brands Show”.
CPA publicity officer Mrs Florence Munetsi said the trade fair had been a success relative to the past editions.
“We are excited that this year we managed to host this event with at least 25 exhibitors and the response from the residents has been overwhelming for the past two days,” she said.

“Comparing with the previous edition, this year we had a high number of exhibitors and also a huge turnout of residents.”
Mrs Munetsi said as an information centre for the city, their duty was to make residents aware of the available services in their community.

“We realised that many people would go outside Chitungwiza to look for services found here simply because they do not know that such services exist; that is why we came up with this trade fair,” she said.

Some of the companies exhibiting included Nyaradzo Funeral Services, Bonvile Medical Scheme, Microhub Financial Services, Trust Academy and Citimed Hospital.

Speaking at the official opening yesterday, Chitungwiza Municipality’s district officer Mr Tendai Chinganga applauded the event.

“Our community grows and appreciates Chitungwiza as a dormitory town where wonders are being done through a number of activities that include manufacturing, retail and other services being showcased here,” he said.

“This exhibition gives the opportunity to various stakeholders from within and around this town to mix and mingle, hence, creating the chance to strengthen cordial relationships important in fashioning strong business connections,” he said.

Mr Chinganga said the local authority was working on creating countless opportunities in the town by the end of the year.
“We are working towards the same goal of making Chitungwiza the first choice town with abounding opportunities for investments by December 2018,” he said. “Events of this calibre are crucial in helping us as a municipality in making the town a favourable and reputable arena for business.”

The trade fair was established in 2009.
