Two Municipal clinics in Chitungwia received four awards from the Government for being the best institutions offering services under the Zimbabwe HIV Quality Management Programme called The Art4All Collaborative that was launched last year.

The awards were hosted last Friday in the capital by the Ministry of Health and Child Care to mark the end of the programme that was being run at 25 clinics in Greater Harare and Mashonaland East Province.

Seke North Clinic was the best in the Same Day Art Initiation and Story Board categories, while Zengeza Clinic won the best Headline and Consistency in Monitoring of the Viral Load awards.

In an interview with the City Health matron Mrs Octivia Munyukwi, she said they were humbled by the recognition from Government.

“We were happy to receive certificates, trophies and several other prizes at the competition because it means that we are on the track to offering the best services to our people on Anti-retroviral Therapy (Art) programme which covers retention, initiation and viral load monitoring,” she said.

She said that the two clinics are also finalists at the international programme that will be hosted in United States                    soon.

“We are proud to be finalists in the best headline category where Seke North, Zengeza are competing with Wilkins clinic in the best headline category and the winner will be selected in the US very soon,” said Mrs Munyukwi.

Chitungwiza City Health Department director Dr Tonderai Kasu said they were proud to get recognition while working in a constrained environment.
