WARRIORS defender Eric Chipeta has signed for South African club Chippa United and could be moving to the newly promoted Premiership side at the start of their new season. Chipeta is currently playing for Hwange in the domestic Premiership but his rights are held by Sprouting Academy, whose director Calvin Nyazema manages the player.

Nyazema yesterday said Chipeta was now set to undergo medicals as he prepares to join the trek across the Limpopo.
“Everything has been sorted out. He is ready to go for medicals and Hwange are aware of this. Chippa have just been promoted into the Premiership now,” said Nyazema.

Chippa United were promoted into the ABSA Premiership after edging Jomo Cosmos and Milano in the race for a ticket to the elite league last month.

If he passes his medical, as is highly likely, Chipeta will leave a void at Chipangano, who have been in splendid form since the start of this season.
The tall defender first broke into the national team after he was called by former coach Klaus Dieter Pagels for the friendly against Zambia and has remained a regular for in the squad.

Chipeta is expected to be among the players set to be called by national team coach Ian Gorowa for the Warriors’ African Nations Cup first round qualifier against Tanzania.
