DYNAMOS caretaker coach Lloyd Chigowe has told his Triangle counterpart Taurayi Mangwiro to hold his horses after he stoked the flames in their rivalries by declaring that the Harare giants have no talent.

Mangwiro, who gave a low opinion of the current DeMbare squad following the 2-1 Chibuku Super Cup semi-final win at Rufaro last week, will be back with his boys at the same venue tomorrow for a league match. But his comments have not gone down well with the Glamour Boys interim coach. DeMbare are keen to revenge for the two losses they have suffered at the hands of the Lowveld side this year.

Triangle beat Dynamos 3-0 in the first leg at Gibbo and Mangwiro last week dismissed the DeMbare as too inferior following the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final success which was marred by violence and resulting in a 13-minute stoppage after a linesman was injured by a missile.

“Talk is cheap, and for a respectable member of the coaching fraternity, I think he should hold his horses,” said Chigow “Whilst you guts also say they beat us technically and tactically, my own analysis that we gifted them the result because the first goal was as a result of sloppy marking from a corner kick.  “It was not from open play. The other one was sloppy clearance again but overall I think we came back into the game. Were it not of the mishap of the linesman having been hit by a missile probably we could have got the equaliser and the script could have been different.

“That long stoppage also affected our momentum, allowed the Triangle coach to re-organise his troops and they absorbed the pressure and everything we threw at them,” said Chigowe.

The Glamour Boys have been fighting for survival for most of the season. Although they have eased pressure by winning their last three league games on the trot, they still need one more victory in the last three outings to be sure.

But DeMbare have had an eventful week which saw the suspension of four players on disciplinary grounds. The Glamour Boys have been further hurt by injuries to some of their key players like Quality Kangadze, Kudzanayi Dhemere and Tawanda Macheke.

“That’s an area where we have been hit hard. We have lost quite a number of our players given that we were already thin, we are already depleted. As it were we have got 15 players I think.

“Probably we can raise up to 16 out of a possible 20 players. So that aspect is not right because obviously we would have needed a full strength squad. But in football anything can happen. With unity and correct attitude we will be able to do the job.

“We will try to finish the season on a high. It will be quite an achievement if we can get all the nine points but I would think that if we can get two draws and a win that would be enough for us. Nonetheless we are going all out for three points times three,” said Chigowe.

Unlike Dynamos, Triangle have a good chance to finish in the top four. The Sugar Sugar boys received a huge boost with the return of Arnold Chivheya from injury.

“It’s good that we beat Dynamos in the Chibuku Super Cup last week but this is now a different competition. We have to shift our focus to the league where we want to consolidate our position. Dynamos have their own objective to survive relegation.

“But we are coming back to Harare in the backdrop of that temper-filled game. We just hope this time we won’t have any problems again.

“We have told our players to put behind them whatever happened in that game. We need to be really switched on,” said Mangwiro.
