CHAPUNGU and Hippo Valley are the latest teams to join the Premiership after they won decisive matches at the weekend. Chapungu will return to the elite league from the Central Region, with five games to spare, and the head coach John Nyikadzino feels they got results from their hard work.

“We are grateful to the people of Gweru who supported us throughout, the support was good for the team and we still need them as we go into the Premiership.

“We will be aiming to survive next year and with the young players we have we can do it,” Nyikadzino said.
The airforce side last played in the top-flight in 2008 and they beat Tongogara 4-2 to clinch the Central Soccer League ticket ending their five-year absence.

Moses Chunga’s Hippo Valley will come in from the Eastern Region where they have only lost twice.
Hippo Valley are now on 60 points and second-placed Mutare City are on 47 points.

The race in the Northern and Southern Region Division One leagues is still on with ZPC Kariba leading the race on 59 points in the Northern Region.
