Cde Masimirembwa dismisses reports of arrest

Zanu PF Harare provincial chairperson Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa has dismissed as false and malicious allegations that he was arrested and detained at Harare Central Police Station today.
It was alleged that Cde Masimirembwa had been picked up by officers from Harare Central Police Station where he was questioned.
In an interview, Cde Masimirembwa dismissed the reports saying they were being peddled by detractors who want to tarnish his image.
“I have not been arrested and I was never called by the police anywhere, these are all lies,” he said.

“Right now I am in Hatcliffe on party business and since morning I have been having a meeting with party officials from Mashonaland East Province,” he said.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi also dismissed the reports.
“He (Cde Masimirembwa) was not arrested and we don’t have such a report,” he said.
The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) also said they had not arrested nor are they investigating Cde Masimirembwa.
