Dynamic duo Faith “Candy” Naphazi and Mabasa “Bazuka” Ziyambi are launching their third Album at Red Café tonight.

Dubbed “Karinge Zuva”, the 10-track offering is an assorted Afro Jazz compilation with a contemporary feel that takes Candy and Bazuka’s appreciation of the popular genre to a higher level.

The title track, “Karinge Zuva”, talks about the essence of respecting the fulfilment of time, with the lyrics underscoring the age old adage that everything happens in its own season.

“We must always accept and appreciate the fact that certain things in life only happen when the right time comes. I believe each of us has an appointed time for their breakthrough in life.

“There is that exact time when the promises pertaining your purpose in life are fulfilled. Most people are not patient enough to wait for the fulfilment of time,” Candy said.

The album was recorded and mastered at Bazuka Studios by Casper Beatz.

“Karinge Zuva” has a video, and the duo is currently working on the video for “Dai Ndiri Shiri”, while other tracks include “Ndabuda muGota”, “Nherera” and “Ndiwe Here?”.

“Ndabuda muGota” talks about a grown man who is mature enough to start a family; who is thanking his family for raising him, but acknowledging that he is now mature enough to confront the vicious vices of life with the courage and strength of a man.

Candy gets personal on the track “Nherera”, which she said is based on a true, personal story, one that touches on her childhood life and upbringing, with the songbird reflectively disclosing that she grew up as an orphan.

“I grew up without parents and so I will be like crying to them, imploring them to hear my cry,” said Candy.

The wide spectrum of her lyrical content on the different tracks on “Karinge Zuva” qualifies Candy as an authentic social commentator, as is exemplified by her song “Ndiwe Here?” — a love song which explores the characteristic sudden change of behaviour adopted by lovers when they fall out of love, fight or have disagreements in relationships.

The album, which will be sold on the launch, is also available at Bazooka Studios, iTunes, Amazon and YouTube.

Supporting the launch will be a number of artistes, including Lady Storm, Simba The Lion, BaShupi and DeSolo B.

Bazuka and Candy’s debut album, titled “Evil Forest”, will also be available.

The launch is open for everyone and starts at 7pm.
