Cabinet set for tomorrow Dr Misheck Sibanda

Cabinet has this week deferred its regular Tuesday sitting to tomorrow, due to more pressing engagements that emerged, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda has said.

In a statement yesterday, Dr Sibanda said: “Owing to unforeseen circumstances, this week’s Cabinet meeting has been rescheduled to 09:00 hours on Thursday, 21st May 2020 at State House.”

Yesterday, President Mnangagwa, who is the Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Co-operation, hosted a one-day Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit of Heads of State and Government plus Mozambique in Harare.

The meeting discussed a range of issues, including the security situation in Maputo and Lesotho, and the Malawian presidential elections as ruled by the country’s courts.

The summit was attended by Zambian President Edgar Lungu, who is the immediate past Chairperson of the Organ, current chairperson President Mnangagwa, incoming Chairperson of the Organ President Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana, and Mozambican President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.

Today, President Mnangagwa is expected to preside over the burial of national hero, Cde Absolom Sikhosana, at the National Heroes Acre.
