Zimbabwean Big Brother Hotsthots housemates Butterphly and JJ are expected to arrive home today from South Africa where they put up a good show in the reality series.

Although details of their arrival are still sketchy it is likely that the pair will touch down at the Harare International Airport in the afternoon.

Liz Dziva of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, who is organising the event, urged fans to be at the airport to welcome the pair.

“Zimbabwean housemates return this Wednesday, time is still to be advised. All those who wish to come to the airport may do so,” she said.

This year’s season of Big Brother Hotshots was won by Idris Sultan of Tanzania, who walked away with the US$300 000 prize money.

Nigerian Tayo was the first runner-up and like the other housemates who lost in the competition he walked away empty handed.

Zimbabwe has made its own strides with regards to the history of Big Brother Africa. It was one of the first countries to win spoils after Wendall Parson and Karen tied up. It was the first country to have both housemates disqualified after Maneta and Roki fought on camera. The two could not co-exist while in the house and their “beef” escalated until they were both evicted from the house.

Then Zimbabwe had an unforgettable and regrettable finish during the Big Brother All Stars season when Munya Chidzonga lost to Uti by one country vote. A week before the finale Munya had pipped Uti but when it came to the crunch time it was Uti who won.

However, as fate would have it, Munya was awarded US$300 000 by President Robert Mugabe on his return from the show after a consortium of businesspeople in solidarity raised the prize money. Munya got double the amount that was given to Uti.
