MANCHESTER. — Claudio Bravo was set to undergo a medical at Manchester City late yesterday ahead of his £17 million move from Barcelona. The Barca keeper flew in to Manchester to complete his move, with the 33-year-old set to sign a three-year deal worth £100 000-a-week with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Bravo will be installed as City’s No.1, ahead of Willy Caballero and former first-choice keeper Joe Hart, who has been demoted to No.3 in the goalkeeping reshuffle.

Guardiola targeted Bravo after deciding Hart did not have sufficient distribution with his feet to play the way he wants, building up from the back.

Personal terms and the clubs’ fees have all been agreed, but Barca are not expected to give Bravo the okay to put pen to paper until tomorrow.

The Spanish champions are signing Jasper Cillessen to replace the 33-year-old but Ajax want him for the second leg of their Champions League qualifier against Rostov before allowing him to move to Catalunya. — The Mirror.
