MAU MAU Boxing Promotions boxing extravaganza main bout attractions — Vincent Muziri and Collen Nyamambishi — have vowed to give spectators who will turn up at Harare Gardens today a night to remember.

Nyamambishi believes nothing will let the title slip away from him as he has been training hard for the competition.

“I think I have done everything which a boxer is expected to do for a big match. I promise to take down my opponent through a knock-out as I don’t want the bout to take much of my time,” said Nyamambishi.

But Muziri has his own ideas and said he knows a lot about his opponent.

“We have met on several occasions and I am ready for the fight. I will do my best to win the fight as it will take me to another level in as far as my boxing career is concerned,” said Muziri. The extravaganza was initially scheduled for October 13 but was rescheduled due to some logistical issues and will have 10 bouts with four of them being championship fights.

Veteran promoter Stalin Mau Mau said he was expecting a good and well-organised night out for boxing enthusiasts.

“There will be several bouts lined up and the main drawcard will be the match between Muziri and Nyamambishi.

“My wish is to see boxing coming back to its feet and that is why we have lined up the biggest bout in the country. The tournament will be the fourth for local boxers and gives hope to all boxing enthusiasts. “We hope if we rejoin the Commonwealth which is a big probability we will produce more World Champions like we used to do,” said Mau Mau.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe boxing Board will host the Region V boxing qualifiers tournament in Kwekwe on Saturday where all the 10 provincial coaches will provide their best boxers for the qualifiers.
