COMPETENT Zimbabwean filmmakers stand a chance to showcase their talent in Belarus as the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is calling for productions to be considered at this year’s XXX Minsk International Film Festival scheduled for November.
Better known as “Listapad”, the film festival is known for attracting productions from across the world and Zimbabwe’s chances of participating are very high.
In a statement, NACZ said the deadline for submission is September 20.
“The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is inviting Zimbabwean filmmakers to submit good and competitive films in response to a call for participation in the XXX Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” which will take place from 1 November to 8 November in Belarus,” reads the statement.
“The programme will include seven competitive screenings, screenings of out-of-competition, creative meetings, workshops, and other events.
“On the 5th of November, the evening is deliberately dedicated to the screening of a film from the Republic of Zimbabwe, among other activities that will be showcased by Zimbabwe.
“As such, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe views this opportunity as one not to miss and is encouraging filmmakers to take interest in participating.”
The NACZ has also extended an invitation to private players in film who can fund themselves and participate in this event to come on board.
