POLICE have arrested a man in Insuza in connection with the case in which two bodies of men who were half naked were on Monday found in a septic tank at a farm which was being leased to the late Vice President John Landa Nkomo. Pardon Mpofu was arrested following investigations carried out by the police and is still assisting them with investigations. The two have since been identified as Nhlanhla Dube (21) and Pilate Moyo (27). National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi yesterday said Mpofu was found in possession of a cellphone belonging to Dube.

“Following his arrest, searches were carried out at Mpofu’s house, leading to the recovering of four cellphones, body lotion, bar soap, satchel and a birth certificate belonging to Dube,” he said.

Chief Supt Nyathi said initial investigations indicates that Dube and Moyo were killed on October 6 in the morning and night, respectively.
He said they believed that Mpofu dumped the bodies in the septic tank.

“We are still investigating the case,” he said.
