BLOG: Information Deputy Minister Paradza tours Zimpapers

0950: Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister Kindness Paradza is touring the country’s largest diversified media group, Zimpapers this morning assessing operations at the stable.

Deputy Minister Paradza is accompanied by Zimpapers board chairman Mr Tommy Sithole, board members and Zimpapers chief executive Mr Pikirayi Deketeke among other senior staff members.

He started by touring the company’s printing division, Natprint, and will tour StarFM before proceeding to other entities including The Herald, ZTN and The Sunday Mail.

Zimpapers boasts of an array of daily and weekly publications, radio stations and a television network across the country namely The Herald, The Chronicle, Sunday Mail, Sunday News, Star FM, ZTN News, Manica Post, HMetro, Kwayedza, Nyaminyani FM and Diamond FM.

 

1000: After touring Star FM, Deputy Minister Paradza said the radio station can also get news reports from the 68 information officers scattered across the country including the rural areas.

1045: Deputy Minister Paradza and his delegation who are coming from Natprint, StarFM and Capitalk premises along Simon Mazorodze have now arrived at Zimpapers head office (Herald House) at the corner of George Silundika and Sam Nujoma.

The head offices also house The Herald, Sunday Mail, ZTN , Hmetro, Kwayedza, Suburban and Advertising offices.

1120: Deputy Minister Paradza recounted his memories at Zimpapers were he did his attachment with The Herald in 1984 when the current chairperson Mr Tommy Sithole was still the editor.
