NOT only are they beaming with confidence after picking up their first win of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season last week, Yadah have also been boosted by the return of star player Khama Billiat.

The 33-year-old forward missed Yadah’s 3-2 victory against TelOne at Bata last Sunday due to a shin injury.

He has now been declared fit to play against Chegutu Pirates at Heart Stadium this afternoon.

The match kicks off at 3PM and is live on ZTN Prime.

While Yadah finally picked up their first win after six rounds of action in the 2024 campaign, Billiat is yet to find the back of the net since making the sensational big money move to The Miracle Boys in February.

But, his coach Thomas Ruzive is confident the former Kaizer Chiefs man will soon get off the mark.

“Morale is high in our camp, especially after we registered our first win of the season last week. But, at the same time we have to try and deal with the issue of complacency,” Ruzive told Zimpapers Sport yesterday.

Yadah now have five points from six matches and sit on 16th position going into Match Day Seven of the 2024 season.

“We are slowly working ourselves up and we have been boosted by the return of Khama (Billiat) whom we all know is an important player for us.

“He has made a quick return as we had initially thought his injury would rule him out for at least two weeks,” Ruzive said.

Billiat suffered the injury after he clashed with Simba Bhora midfielder Tichaona Chipunza on Match Day Five.

Yadah lost 1-2 against the Shamva side at Heart Stadium.

However, they recovered a week later and dismissed TelOne in their own backyard.

They now face unpredictable Chegutu Pirates who have a reasonable start to life in the Premier Soccer League.

Dzinza have seven points from six games and sit on 13th position.

They registered their second win of the season last weekend, when they edged Hwange 2-1 at Baobab.

Their other win came against Green Fuel on Match Day Three.

That’s why Ruzive is wary of the 2023 Northern Region Soccer League champions.

“They are no longer a Division One side, they are now in the Premier Soccer League and should be treated likewise,” Ruzive said.

“We have been preparing well for this game and we are taking Chegutu Pirates like any other PSL team. There’s no need for us to be complacent,” he added.
