“Griing . . . !” The clock bell rings loudly with a deafening noise as Max wakes up to get ready to go school. He wakes up excited and rejuvenated after the wonderful dream he had that night which made him feel on top of the world.
As he shuffles on his way to the kitchen to get his breakfast, he frowns at the thought of going back to school.

School days were not really good for Max, as he was being bullied by other students frequently. He would come back home crying, hurting, disheartened and sometimes frustrated.

Max never had the courage to tell his parents or his teacher what was happening to him.

One day he was walking down the road on his way home with his buddy Romeo, sharing jokes and stories, laughing their lungs out, but when Max saw the bullies confronting him, things changed. The atmosphere became devilish and scary for him.
The bullies took Max’s bag and threw it in the mud.

That moment was the turning point for him to stop being fearful and be courageous. Max ran home to tell his mother what was happening to him. His mother became furious and went to speak to the bullies.

When the bullies saw Max’s mom coming to them, they knew it was trouble. Fear gripped them and they ran away and never bullied Max again. So many times in our lives as teenagers, there are many things we want to do, which is right but sometimes we lack courage.

Courage is the quality of spirit or mind that enables an individual to face danger, difficulty, intimidation and pain.

In your life, maybe you have been abused verbally, socially, racially or in any other way and sometimes you have been intimidated and told no one about it. Today, I am telling you that the only way to win the game of life is by being courageous.

I will give you an example of a courageous person in the Bible, and that person is Joshua.

Joshua became the leader of the children of Israel after the death of Moses, and God told him to be strong and courageous.

The one and only true God, told a man to be courageous because He knows how vital it is. There are times in life when we face challenges and God wants us to be courageous all the way to the end, because He knows that the blessing is much more bigger than the battle. He knows that it’s not going to last long. Some situations in life are there to teach you something and make you leave your comfort zone. You really don’t learn when things are easy, but you grow when you face challenges. For a pencil to write neatly and nicely, it has to go through sharpening. In your life, when you go through sharpening, know that something better is coming along the way.

Learn from Paula White that when you are down to nothing then God is up to something. So do not beat yourself up, even if people may laugh at you, but know that one day you will be somebody great.

Let “courage” be your friend, “patience” be your sister and “faith” be your twin and you will go far. Keep up the hard work and be courageous!
