IT will be a battle of the veterans, in the colours of the newboys, when Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles clash in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One league.

The showdown is set for Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva this afternoon.

Simba Bhora are coming from Mashonaland Central Division Two while Golden Eagles won the Harare Province Division Two B ticket.

Four-time Division One championship-winning coach, Arthur “Tuts” Tutani, is in charge of Simba Bhora.

Joel “Dubai” Luphala, who won the championship with Telone in the Central Region in 2018, is in charge of Golden Eagles.

Simba Bhora, who go by the nickname “Go Buju,” drawn from club sponsor Simba “Buju” Ndoro, have demonstrated their intent of making an impact.

They signed veterans Hardlife Zvirekwi, Pride Tafirenyika, Raphael Manuvire, Nicholas “Tiko” Alifandika and Honey Chimutimunzeve, among several others.

“Gondo Harishaye,” as Golden Eagles are known, unveiled four veterans — Munyaradzi Diya, Dominic Mukandi, Chris “Maskiri” Samakwere, and Raymond Uchena.

“I am happy that we can now start the season and I hope to start on a high note, as we have prepared well,’’ said Tutani.

“The boys have experience and we will mix that with youth who will bring the energy.
