Old skool veterans Jabavu Drive will tonight return to Bar Rouge at Longecheng Plaza after a two-week break from their usual slot. The veterans did not perform at the venue for the past two weeks due to private commitments and tonight they take back their Friday slot. Known for their experience in the industry that span over decades, the jazz masters are among the few groups that still pursue the genre. Their music always attracts mature crowds and Bar Rouge is one of their favourite venues since it also targets mature patrons.

And Bar Rouge’s weekend programme will definitely excite their target market because tomorrow Bob Nyabinde will take over the stage to serenade fans. Bar Rouge manager Spencer Sahumani said the return of Jabavu Drive needs celebration while the coming of Nyabinde will seal a weekend of good music.

“Jabavu Drive has our Friday slot but they could not be here over the past two weeks because they were attending private functions. They asked to be excused and we reserved their slot for them. They are good entertainers and their return calls for celebration. It is a Friday night to party before we host Bob Nyabinde,” said Sahumani.

“Nyabinde has performed at the venue several times and he is one of our patrons’ favourites. He does his music in a unique way and he is indeed the ‘Headmaster’ of stage work. The way he fuses his songs with comic statements make him one of our good crowd-pullers here.”
