DOORS to international stardom have finally opened for two of Zimbabwe’s top junior motocross riders Emmanuel Bako and Regan Wasmuth after they were invited to join top French team EHR Racing France for the 2019 season.

EHR Racing France, headed up by ex-South African rider Joe Tavares, will assist the Team with the latest that Europe has to offer these young talented riders.

Also headed by team manager, Chris Botha, the Team said they were ready for the 2019 season, especially after recruiting the two talented Zimbabwean riders Bako (12) and Wasmuth, who recently celebrated his 18th birthday.

According to Bako’s father and manager, Brighton, his son and Wasmuth will this year represent EHR Racing France in the South African motocross racing circuit.

There’s also a strong possibility that Emmanuel will be sent by the French team to race in the Master Kids Championships in France or the Thor Winter Olympics Supercross and Motocross Championships in Florida, United States, later this year.

Top Zimbabwean female rider Tanya Muzinda competed in the Thor Winter Olympics Supercross and Motocross Championships in Florida in November last year.

“Emmanuel will be representing EHR Racing France in the South African motocross circuit, starting with round two of the Gauteng Series at Smoking Pistons this weekend where he will get all his racing kit from his new team who have indicated that they will also fly him to compete in Master Kids Championships in France later this year,’’ said Bako.

“This will open the doors for him to become a fully-fledged professional racer which has always been his dream.’’

Wasmuth’s father, Warren, said yesterday that the coming on board of EHR Racing France was also a big boost for his son.

‘’Joe has gone the extra mile to take our riders to the next level.

These riders have already won all that Africa has to offer, and the opportunity that the EHR Racing team is offering them to race internationally is priceless,” Warren Wasmuth said.
