SUNDAY saw some of Zimbabwe’s top junior and senior male and female motocross riders congregating at the cathedral of local motorsport – Donnybrook Raceway in Harare – where they took part in round two of the 2018 Bogwheelers Club’s Club Championship series and the day once again belonged to two of the country’s most talented young bikers Emmanuel Bako and Daiyaan Manuel.

As expected Bako (12) was the darling of a good crowd of more than 1 000 motocross fans who made their way to Donnybrook to watch this one-day motorcycling event and he charmed them by riding flawlessly to claim the first step on the podium in the 65cc Class.

Bako was emulated by fellow talented young rider Manuel (13) who swept to victory in the 85cc (big wheel) Class ahead of the former and Ricky Whyte while the country’s top female biker Tanya Muzinda took a credible fourth-place finish in this division in which she raced against boys.

The 85cc (big wheel) Class produced some exciting bar-to-bar clashes between Manuel, Bako, Whyte and Muzinda but it was the former rider who had his nose in front in the two heats to emerge as the overall winner on a beautiful sunny day on Sunday.
