Situated in Belgravia, Ambulance Care and Evacuation has been in existence for the past five years and is a proud member of the Baines Imaging Group of Companies which is not only the largest radiology service provider in Zimbabwe, but also has the most modern state-of-the-art facilities.

The ambulance service has proven to be more than just a business, but a team that values life over and above everything.

Last weekend it provided services at the Zimpapers Cancer Walk.

At a time when people can barely afford to use ambulances they have been compromising with patients and meeting them halfway rather than leave them stranded. With the help of their specialised oncology branch in Newlands, which is also known as Oncocare, they have been providing that extra special touch to cancer patients in instances where patients need to be moved from hospital for radiation or chemotherapy treatments at their centre and at times these patients often require multiple treatments.

There are cases where patients need a dozen treatments making use of the ambulance for each visit and for patients and their families this can prove to be costly. However, Ambulance Care and Evacuation come to the rescue of many patients giving them greatly discounted rates for the ambulance trips and have even offered some trips free of charge.

These are humanitarian and philanthropic gestures being afforded by companies in difficult times and it shows that there are still people out there that have the will to save human life over profits and offer services in the help to fight cancer in Zimbabwe.

The ambulance service has also supported many charity events during the course of the year including the Kidzcan Mudrun, which is held annually in January and is in aid of children with cancer .

They will also be provided free ambulance services at the Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk in conjunction with Zimbabwe Newspapers Group as a way to alert the public on cancer awareness in the country and to immediately provide medical assistance to anyone diagnosed with this disease which has ravaged and continues to ravage countless lives across the globe.

The team at Ambulance Care is very humble and do not blow their own trumpet but in the end people will always see when one does good deeds.

They also promote gender equality and this is very visible by the very composition of their staff which consists of both male and female Ambulance Technicians (AT) and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) in almost equal measure.

They all have equal duties and if you visit their offices at No. 22 Bath Road in Belgravia you will be amazed by the hospitality and service that they extend to every visitor.

The company accepts all new ideas to improve their ambulance services. The team was at the Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk on Saturday.
