THE Zimbabwe representatives at this year’s World Golf championships have started on a decent note as they are in 12th place out of 70 countries at Carton House, in Maynooth, near Dublin, Ireland.

Zimbabwe is being represented by the country’s top amateurs David Amm, Jack Allard and Stuart Krog while Roger Baylis is the team coach.

Amm, 19, who captained the Zimbabwe Golf Team at the African Amateur Golf Team Championship last year, where they finished as runner-ups, is the man who could make a big mark.

He is making his making his second appearance at the WATC and won the Zimbabwe Junior Stroke Play and the Zimbabwe Match Play.

Amm shot a five-under par 68 and was tied in seventh place.

Allard is also doing well at level par 73 and was tied on position 66 overall while Krog is a shot behind at one over par 74 and tied 88th overall.
