ZIMBABWE is ready to host the International Tennis Federation Futures tournaments which start this weekend at Harare Sports Club.

The event is sponsored by Old Mutual and several players are expected to take part in the event. Zimbabwe tennis administrator Clifford Nhokwara said everything was now in place.

“All is now in place for the tournaments and we are expecting a strong field as the games have some points and we expect players from across the whole world to participate,” said Nhokwara.

Meanwhile, the Harare Metropolitan Province Tennis Board held their annual meeting, which saw them electing a new board.

Collin Mahere, the former vice-chairman, took over as the chairman.
