BANKER Desmond “Dezola” Ali has said the good old days are set to return, to the Mabvuku and Tafara community, once lower league football is given the greenlight to resume.

Three teams from the area have either registered, or about to register, to play in the Harare Province Division Two B league.

Ali, who owns Ali Sundowns, confirmed they were back in the competitive leagues, of the domestic football structures.

Ali Sundowns will be joined by More Love, and Inno Cosmos, in what is expected to be battle of supremacy, in one of the capital’s oldest suburb.

Inno Cosmos are owned by Innocent Mugabe, the young brother of the late Joe Mugabe, the CAPS United legend, who died in the United Kingdom this year.

Mugabe also runs BJM Academy, which is the feeder team, for Inno Cosmos.

More Love are owned by a group of young businessmen, who all hail from Mabvuku.

Ali, who last had a team in the competitive leagues in 2016, said he was now back with a bang.

“I was away for some time, I am happy that we will have new teams in our community,’’ he said.

“It will be interesting to see battles, between these teams, as they are from the same suburb and most of the players know each other.

“There is need to develop the game and the Mabvuku and Tafara community will be grateful that these teams are from their area.’’

Ali Sundowns will have former Black Rhinos player, Fungai Chirwa, in their technical team.

Their aim is to identify, and develop players, from Under-18 age group.

“Our thrust will be on the Under-10s to Under-18s as well as a women’s team,’’ said Ali.

“We have seen a huge gap in our game where we still talk about Peter Ndlovu and Moses Chunga, whom we have not manage to replace, and we are taking responsibility.

“The lack of player development is not only in the men’s teams alone, but also the women’s sides as well so we want to bridge the gap.’’

Mugabe said he was looking forward to what will certainly be an interesting season for these community sides.
