Alexio warms to stage with Tuku Alexio Kawara

Alexio Kawara believes the traditional feel that he added to his music has helped him keep afloat the music sea that swept away most of his contemporaries from the urban grooves era.

The musician fused his urban grooves vibes with mbira beat and won a new section of mature fans.

He has been able to maintain a good relationship with corporates and his upcoming assignment at Montclair Hotel and Casino in Nyanga says it all.

Alexio will share the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi at the hotel on June 23 at the concert that is annually paired with a golf tournament at the resort.

Tuku performs at the event annually and has taken various young musicians with him for the concert.

Alexio becomes the first musician to be invited to share the stage with Tuku two years in a row at the concert.

He was at the event last year and he impressed Tuku and concert organisers to win a slot at this year’s edition.

“I am glad to be part of the concert again. Nyanga provides a great platform to reach out and network with the executives that we work with at corporate events.

It is an honour to return to the concert after a great performance last year. I want to thank mudhara Tuku and organisers of the concert for having faith in me,” said Alexio.

This concert will be preceded by a golf tournament that takes place beginning 10am on the day.

This year’s tournament will be a great experience for many golfers because professional Ryan Cairns is expected to be on the course.

Cairns is a professional golfer who has won several trophies and has participated in international tournaments.

Registration for the golf tournament is already underway and tickets for the show are also on sale in at the hotel’s offices in Harare and at the hotel Nyanga.

Montclair Sales and Marketing manager Busisiwe Tutani said response to this year’s event is great.

“People started making enquiries about the golf tournament and the show well before we advertised. The event is growing each year.

It seems everyone who comes for this event never wants to miss the next edition,” said Tutani.

“We have a special package for people that come for the tournament and the show. It is always a good time to give back to our guests.

We are happy that we will have a professional golfer taking part in the tournament.

It shows that the tournament is attracting interest from renowned golfers and it should also inspire other players to come in.”
