Alexio Kawara was in a dancing mood last Friday as he exhibited exciting styles during his show at Book Café. He danced with the fans in an energetic performance that exhibited the musician has fully recovered from the injury he suffered more than a year ago in an accident.

He had the cosmopolitan crowd on its feet throughout the show as he belted out yesteryear hits and several songs from his upcoming fourth a album “Oyi”.

It was when he played yesteryear hits including “Chibvukubvuku”, “Musikana Akanaka” that he managed to ignite memories of his days as an urban grooves artiste.

He also played songs from the new album including “Hana”, which he says is about those in love who have stood with each other through thick and thin.

He also played “Zvazvinhu” which has proved to be the people’s favourite.

The main highlight of the night was when Alexio did a rendition of Leonard Dembo’s “Chitekete” when he was joined by his fans in dancing.

He also played James Chimombe’s hit “Muchiti Mugere” and this also did magic to the audience which joined in.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment on the sidelines of the gig, Kawara said he was now fit and promised more fireworks in his live performances.

“I am now fine and I just want to assure my fans that more dance routines are coming their way,” he said.

Kawara’s forthcoming album will be his fourth after venturing into music in 1999 with a single track “Amai”.

The 37-year-old musician became a household name after the release of his debut album “Usazondisiya” in 2003 which featured hit songs like “Ndinomhanya” and “Kumba Kwenyu”.

His track “Shaina” could be his biggest achievement so far as it was redone in Chinese.

The musician has worked with different artistes on different projects that included the late Andy Brown, Clive Mono Mukundu and Newman Chipeni among others.
