Sixteen people who were arrested over the weekend while hosting a sex party in Tynwald South, Harare, appeared in court yesterday where they were all remanded out of custody to today on free bail.

Chibanda Alexio (41), Daniel Dhivala (23), Edward Kanengoni (29), Praisemore Makuni (39), Trust Gamure (21), Spatisiwe Kufa (21), Samuel Makove (34), Paul Nhodza (35), Luis Zvenhasi (26), Mark Tafirenyika (36), Thokozani Tshuma (21), Lydia Nyakutsikwa (36), Mollen Mashangaidze (33), Loveness Zindi and Shylet Simba, were not asked to plead to the charges when they appeared before magistrate Mrs Barbra Mateko.

Rayn Mabva Mukononi, believed to be the owner of the house where the party was hosted, was also remanded to today on $3 000 bail.

Allegations facing the 16 are that on October 16, police officers received a tip-off from the public that there was a sex party at House Number 618 Monaghan Road, Tynwald South, Harare.

Police located the house and upon entry, they discovered that there were 16 people, both males and females, in one room.

The police officers further discovered that the other people in the room were naked while others were half naked.

The 16 were then questioned about their mission and they gave police unsatisfactory explanations, leading to their arrest.
