A total of 131 students from Gwebi Agricultural College graduated last week after completing their diploma studies. In a speech read on his behalf by Prof Emmanuel Manzungu, University of Zimbabwe Vice Chancellor Prof Levi Nyagura urged the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development to facilitate for the creation of a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Agriculture.

“Judging by the high standard of the diploma programme it will no longer make sense to continue awarding Gwebi graduates a diploma,” he said.

“A Bachelor of Technology degree in agriculture would be more appropriate.”
