LINCOLN ZVASIYA

UNSETTLED Zimbabwe international Lincoln Zvasiya is on the verge of joining ambitious Harare City on a short stint before he resumes playing for South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in June this year.
Zvasiya still has a contract with Chiefs but had been on a short-spell loan at Greek side OFI Crete where he had been playing since July last year.

The former Monomotapa player is now back on the continent but he cannot immediately join Amakhosi because they have exhausted their quota of foreign players.

Yesterday, Zvasiya was at ZB Sports Club where Harare City engaged Premiership returnees Chapungu in  a practice match.

Harare City coach Bigboy Mawiwi said they are assessing the player with prospects of signing him in the next few days. “Lincoln came and started training with us yesterday (Thursday). Now we are assessing him to see if we can get him on a loan.

“So we need a few more days before we get a clear picture,” said Mawiwi.

However, it is understood that Zvasiya’s move to Harare City is as good as done and what is now left is to formalise the terms with his handlers Chiefs.

Kaizer Chief coach Stuart Baxter had agreed to loan Zvasiya to OFI Crete so that the defender could gain game time. Zvasiya saw the opportunity as a blessing in disguise for a feel of a European football.

The defender had previously been linked with his former club FC Platinum, CAPS United and Dynamos.

Harare City have three slots to add on their squad after adding Misheck Mburayi, Takudzwa Chimwemwe, Arnold Chaka, Benson Maglas, Timire Mamvura, Mehli Sibanda, Agrippa Murimba and Francisco Zekumbawire.

The Sunshine Boys have also beefed up their technical department by bringing in David George and physiotherapist Killian Kadye.
