THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Southern Africa Directories has come up with a business directory that is expected to support the development of business in the country.
The ZNCC 2011 Business Directory covers contact details of commercial, industrial and professional companies that are active in Zimbabwe.
In addition to telephone contact details, the business-specific directory incorporates the ZNCC members’ list, benefits of being a ZNCC member, a how-to-start-and-run-a-business module and an up-to-date classifieds section.
Although the directory is a ZNCC initiative, it has contacts of a diverse range of enterprises from large corporations to small-to-medium enterprises that are both ZNCC and non-ZNCC members.
In an interview with the Herald Business, SAD general manager Mr Simon Hunidzarira said the business directory would act as tool to facilitate business activity and new investments in the local economy.
“The directory is one of the valuable sources of information for domestic and foreign business enterprises and for those wishing to trade with the Zimbabwean business community or planning to invest in Zimbabwe.
“Businesspeople should consider the ZNCC 2011 Business Directory as a valuable asset that provides reliable reference for the business community in Zimbabwe,” he said.
According to Mr Hunidzarira, the directory will be an annual publication and work is currently underway to develop an electronic version that will be accessible on the ZNCC website.
The ZNCC directory has both white and yellow pages and it is going to include businesses from across the country not just Harare as is the case with most directories.
According to the ZNCC, the directory will be circulated to all Zimbabwean embassies and ZNCC sister chambers in the region and internationally. “Given the chamber’s initiatives in promoting local and international linkages, companies listed in the directory and advertisers will enjoy increased exposure for their goods, products and services.
“It is the ideal aisle for those willing to open new channels and business opportunities with the Zimbabwean business community,” said the ZNCC.
