ZNCC Annual Congress roars into life today tobacco

The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Annual Congress kicks off today in Victoria Falls. The Annual Congress is running under the theme, “Economic transformation in a new normal economy: ‘New challenges, New ideas” The Congress is expected to discuss how Zimbabwean businesses are adjusting to the transformation of the economy.Participants are expected to have an opportunity to take part and influence debates through question and answer sessions featured in the meeting’s interactive round-tables and panel discussions.

The event covers a range of topics based on the economic transformation that Zimbabwe is going through.

Topics to be discussed will include, Beyond Bond Notes: What next, Beyond the IMF’s Staff Monitored Programme (SMP), What’s next for Zimbabwe, Addressing Ease of Doing Business, Progress and Challenges to Date, Managing Costs in a Deflation Environment: Strategies and Options.

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa is the guest of honour while First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe is also expected to grace the event.

Other speakers include Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Dr John Mangudya, Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa, Industry and Commerce Minister Mike Bimha, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda, Higher and Tertiary education Minister Prof Jonathan Moyo, Durban Chamber chief executive Dumile Cele, Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda, ZESA Holdings chief executive Josh Chifamba, IMF country director Christian Beddies and ILO country director Hopolang Phororo.
