LONDON. — Zlatan Ibrahimovic yesterday ended months of speculation by confirming he will be joining Manchester United this summer.

The 34-year-old used his Instagram account to announce his next destination.

“Time to let the world know. My next destination is Manchester United. #IAmComing,” the post read.

The move means Zlatan will now re- unite Jose Mourinho having previously worked with the Portuguese at Inter Milan.

Besides the striker’s Instagram post, there has been no news on the details on the deal, although Manchester United are understood to be happy with Ibrahimovic’s announcement. It was hoped that the Sweden striker was expected to reveal his plans at the launch of his clothing brand, A-Z, but when pressed an audience member for confirmation, he said:

“There is no confirmation. You will have to wait.

“I want you to keep wondering where I will go, keep making stories, and when I am tired I will let you know when my next destination is.”

As reported by Matt Law earlier last month, Manchester United were prepared to delay the deal to allow Zlatan Ibrahimovic to collect a loyalty bonus from Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic and his agent Mino Raiola were only eligible to collect the bonus if the striker saw out his contract until June 30. Ibrahimovic had planned to have his club future confirmed before Sweden opened up their Euro 2016 campaign against Republic of Ireland, but the prospect of a large pay-off was enough to delay the decision.

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial commented on the likelihood of Ibrahimovic joining the team earlier this month.

“If Zlatan comes, it would be really good,” said the France striker today. “He is a great striker and he will bring us his experience.”

Aside from his obvious talent, everyone’s already looking forward to having the uniquely entertaining striker in the Premier League next season.

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has offered up his immediate thoughts on Twitter.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced that his next club will be Manchester United. Will be great fun having him in the @premierleague,” Lineker said on Twitter. — Telegraph.
