Zimtravel wins international excellence award

Zimtravel Magazine has scooped the Gold Category Geneva 2015 Century International Quality Era Award sponsored by Business Initiative Directions, through Imarpress Media Publications.

Business Initiative Directions is an internationally acclaimed business quality barometer company based in Madrid, Spain and has been awarding companies like Grant Thorton and Tata, among others, since 1986.

Zimtravel whose mainstay has been a unique descriptive writing style, rare once-in-a-million-chance cover pictures and captivating design, captured the eye of BID voters, while they travelled on Air Zimbabwe, where the magazine is an inflight read.

BID is famed for holding annual conference and award ceremonies in emblematic cities like Paris, Geneva, Madrid, London, Frankfurt and New York, where they gathers winners.

This year, the gala dinner and awards ceremony will take place at the Inter Continental Convention Hall in Geneva Switzerland on March 22, 2015.

Companies from 74 different countries together with leaders from different business fields, professionals from the worlds of economics, the arts and corporate image, quality experts as well as academic personalities and representatives from the diplomatic corps will attend the ceremony that will also be covered by both electronic and print media.

“Well, we are not in the habit of praising ourselves. Our work speaks for us and we have been thriving to be of high international standards.

“This has paid but we dedicate the award to the tourism and hospitality industry in Zimbabwe,’’ said Zimtravel editor Isdore Guvamombe.

The award is given in recognition of those companies or organisations in different countries throughout the world that further their reputation and position by implementing and promoting a quality culture.

Also, the award recognises and encourages the contribution of organisations and companies to quality, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction as well as improving relations with employees, suppliers and all those associated with winning organisations.

Leaders of those entities that have won and received the award naturally form the jury that designates the companies and organisations to be awarded the award next.

BID has awarded companies and professionals from 179 different countries since 1986. BID also organises events and publishes newspapers, books, magazines and reports for television in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Russian.

The focus is on policy in the areas of quality, national and international commerce, new products and financial resources in industry and the service sector.

Other organisations or companies to win the award include CBA Kereskedelmi KFT, from Hungary, Coal India Limited, the largest coal producing company in the world, Canada’s Woodbine Entertainment Group, Sorouh Real Estate Company PJSC, from the United Arab Emirates, Mexico’s Franklin Electric and Darsot Food Corp of South Africa to name just a few. Business Initiative Directions is a global business consultancy and communications company, focusing on spreading Quality Culture and has awarded companies and organizations from 179 countries, based on the QC100 model for Total Quality Management principles since 1986.
