THE Zimbabwe cricket squad is now in Gisborne, New Zealand, where they have set-up base for a week of continued preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Zimbabwe will play three 50-over matches against a Northern Districts XI provincial side on the 2nd, 4th and 6th of February at the Harry Barker Reserve.

The Northern Districts XI side will feature players from the Northern Knights, which is one of New Zealand’s First-class teams.

The matches were organised by Zimbabwe Cricket to give the team as much time in the middle as possible and in conditions similar to what they will encounter during the ICC Cricket World Cup.

After the Gisborne matches, Zimbabwe will play another two warm-up matches, organised by the ICC against New Zealand and Sri Lanka on the 9th and 11th of February, respectively, at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand.
