Zim Staff College promoting mutual trust among armed forces within SADC

Officiating at the graduation ceremony of the Joint Command Staff Course Number 23 at the ZSC in Harare yesterday, the Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces said joint training programmes make it easier to realign the stand-by brigade into one force.

“The understanding and cooperation that arises through working together during these courses is invaluable as it forms the foundation upon which mutual trust is built among the armed forces in the region. This is a cherished virtue critical to our quest for regional peace, security and integration,” President Mugabe said.

Fifty students from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, South Africa, Lesotho, Tanzania and Namibia graduated yesterday.
Of these, 27 were from the Zimbabwe National Army, nine from the Air Force of Zimbabwe, while the Zimbabwe Republic Police and Zimbabwe Prison Services provided one each.
