JOHANNESBURG. — Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande admits that the University of Pretoria give them problems ahead of their Absa Premiership clash at FNB Stadium today.Kick-off is at 3:00pm.

The game could feature a number of Zimbabweans with Kingston Nkhatha and Ovidy Karuru expected to play for Chiefs while Partson Jaure, Washington Arubi and Denver Mukamba could feature for AmaTuks.

Amakhosi will take to the field for their sixth league game of the season looking to extend their winning run, but Katsande admits it will not be an easy task against Tuks.

Chiefs currently top the log with 15 points, following five wins from five games and while many feel the two week international break will halt the Glamour Boys momentum, Katsande believes the opposite.

“I think the (international) break will work in our favour because we had a couple of knocks in our team and it allowed the injured guys to recover – it was a blessing in disguise for us,” said Katsande.

“So far, so good, but there is always room for improvement. My role is to balance the team and officiate from the midfield. We are scoring goals from the midfield and that is good for the team.

“Against Tuks it is going to be a tough game. Every time we play against them they give us a problem. We have to remain focused and listen to the coach’s game plan.

“Our aim is to get all three points to keep our momentum and keep us at the top of the league.”

In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Tuks have met in four league matches since 2012/13. The Amakhosi have two wins compared to one for the University-based side, while one match ended in a draw.

Last season the Amakhosi completed a league “double” over the Tshwane side, winning 1-0 both home and away.

Tuks’ Siyabonga Shoyisa, however, is confident the university team, who are place 11th on the table and ten points adrift of their impending opponents, will get something out of this match as they look to stop a rampaging Chiefs in their tracks.

“We know Chiefs are doing well at this stage but we take the game as any other,” said Shoyisa.

“We can’t see it as a special one. All is good when it comes to preparations, our focus and dedication hasn’t changed because we’re playing against Chiefs. The coach, Steve Barker, said we need to give it our best and fight for the three points.

“We are an ambitious team and we’re going into this encounter eyeing a win against Chiefs. The three points is what is at stake and that’s our target as well.

“Fortunately we’re all injury free and we have no suspensions. That gives the coach all the options to plan for this one.” – SuperSport.
